Hosting an Event


Coaches, for insurance purposes, you must receive a sanction to host an event. To receive a sanction from the USJF, you must submit the following:
  1. Sanction Application Form

    2. The application form must be signed by our yudanshakai president or registration chair.
  2. Sanction Fee
  3. 30 days or more in advance - $10
  4. 7 to 29 days in advance - $20
  5. less than 7 days in advance - $30

  6. Event Information Sheet

    7. Event information sent out to inform others of your event must include:
    • time of event
    • place of event
    • proof that your event is "open" (that is, open to participation by all currently valid members of USJF, USJI or USJA). For example, your information sheet may state, "Eligibility: must have current USJF, USJI or USJA card"

  7. Entry Form

    8. The entry form may be on the same page as your event information. It must include space to put the participant's membership number and expiration date for any of the three national organizations. For example:

    "Please check:____USJF____USJI____USJA
    Membership #________ Exp. Date _______"

    (If your entry form is on the same page as your event information, this method is sufficient proof that your event is open and you do not have to separately state the eligibility as suggested above under Event Information Sheet.)
  8. Waiver Form

    9. The waiver form must be correct down to every little dot.

    Click here to download a waiver form that can be customized for your event. (All you need to do is put in the appropriate state, venue and dojo name in the bold areas.)

    Submit your form and the national office will let you know any necessary corrections. Once you have made the corrections, resubmit the form to the national office.
